Herbalife Review From Someone Who Didn’t Join

by Admin on August 1, 2011

Overview

Herbalife is a nutrition and health product company based in the United States. They fulfill product orders placed by customers. In addition to products, Herbalife also offers customers and the general public the opportunity to market and distribute their products as independent distributors. This Herbalife review will discuss the company structure as well as how distributors are paid.

The Company

Herbalife International is a public company traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ‘HLF’. The company has roughly 4500 employees world wide. Herbalife’s product line include nutrition and skin care products. These range from vitamins and supplements to protein shakes and weight-loss aids.

Founded in 1980, the company has grown to $2.7 billion in net annual sales and is active in 76 countries globally. The company uses a multi-level marketing model. The company has around 2 million independent distributors world wide. These distributors then market the product to the end consumer.

The Pay Plan

The Herbalife pay plan is structured similarly to other network marketing organizations. Each distributor receives a portion of the purchase price of each product as a commission. Distributors may also recruit new distributors. When these recruits, also called “down-line distributors”, sell products the distributor that recruited them receives a commission. The new distributors often rely on the recruiting distributor, also called an “up-line”, for training and support. This process repeats for several generations. So any sales made create commissions for the distributor, the distributor who recruited them and the distributor who recruited them.

Distributors are independently responsible for their marketing and recruiting efforts. Some distributors have been accused of falsely representing potential earnings and other unscrupulous business practices. This is where “Herbalife Scam” accusations arise. New distributors should take care to not only understand Herbalife as a company but also how their up-line can support them. Herbalife reviews can help in this process.

Summary

Herbalife International is a network marketing based nutrition company. They allow their distributors to sell and recruit other distributors. This strategy has enabled Herbalife to grow into a multi-billion dollar company.

Hello folks. My wife and cousin started with herbalife a few months ago. No one knew about it until I noticed my wife losing weight which was strange because since our first child she gained weight and was never able to loose the extra weight. She then explained to me about what she was doing and why she did not mention it to me. She and her cousin are now Distributors in the hartford, newington and west Hartford area and we are planning to open a wellness center soon. Herbalife is for all. From babies, children and adults. There is a variety of products out there. From weight loss to weight gain. From herbalife core complex for healthier hearts to tablets for your prostate, oscular defense, joint support, menapausal support for women and xtra cal for healthy bones. Hearbalife is not just to lose weight like many think. It targets health and nutrition for a healthier you. I finally decided to try it since I was beginning to see results first hand. I lost 7 pounds in the first week. I continued doing it for a month and lost 18 more lbs. Today I have lost 30 lbs including body fat and I am 10 pounds away of reaching my goal weight! We have been distributing to our family and friends first because they are the ones who noticed the changes in our appearance at first. we offer advice and help to people who want to know about herbalife and how it can help them. We are not looking to recruit people to sell anything like people think herbalife is only about. We are in this business to get people healthy! We do free zumba on fridays and afterwards for 4 dollars We offer sample of the different tea, shakes, aloes that we offer aside from all the wonder products that herbalife offers. Give yourself a week. You will see and feel the difference. For more information please feel free to call. Us 860 913-5428 my name is giovanni. Or you can call maribel at 860 805-8056 or my wife evelyn at 860 913-5454 if you prefer to speak in spanish. Thank you. We hope you to hear from you.

i believe in Herballife, but I had to get off it because it was too expense for my budget. I really like the food repacement shakes and many people saw a difference, so, has the cost go down or what?

Bottom line it’s a MLM business. What does that mean? Products aside, it means that you are a contractor who pays for the right to distribute, sell, market, the herbalife brand. It also means that you can build a team and get paid off of their efforts as well. – that’s the positive part of the pitch.

Reality is you have to buy the product at wholesale prices and resell them. (that’s what distributors do) This cuts into your initial 25% pay out per sale. So whenever anyone ever talks about this company it’s in terms of building a business and not the product. Most money will be made by bringing in recruits, or “wellness coaches”. These are folks that you will get 2% of anything they bring in. Plus you get a portion of the “licensing fee”. AND if you can get them to take a wellness test and see the need for the product themselves you get that money in your pocket (your % anyway).

So you see it’s not about the product…it’s just protein shakes and multivitamins etc… nothing new. If you are 50-100+lbs over weight and you cut your calories to 1200/day and drink protein shakes…you’ll lose weight…period. Doesn’t matter what brand it is.

I’ve posted a link to a PDF that shows the average ANNUAL income for 2011 – first level Supervisors made only $900 annually on average – The all powerful GET level – only $22K
98% of all “employees” and I use that term loosely. Made on average less than $1000/month

That’s a huge difference from the sales pitch given in one of the clubs or from whomever contacts you.

You can do well here but odds are you won’t. Back in the day these were “steak knives” or water filters or some other product that was easy to pitch but reality is they just want the fees from 100 people/month and if they really do sell the product….great.

You raise some very valid points in this post yet i do feel that one point has been left out. Yes 98% of distributors do not make a fortune yet that is consistent with the rest of life and business. 2% of the people in the world make 98% of the income. Also used wisely eg paid off mortgage or saved $900 month would make a huge difference to most people. I believe the beauty of Herbalife is that everyone has the same opportunity
